North High has been rated as the #1 school in the country in the 2017 rankings by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), which includes schools in every state.
The NCES also reports that North High is ranked #1 in the nation in both math and reading.
North High ranked first in all of math in 2017, and second in reading in 2017.
The NCES has also released a report showing that North’s students are highly intelligent and highly skilled in math and science.
North High students were ranked #10 in all three subjects in 2016, and the school has consistently topped the national average in reading and math in that time period.
In 2016, North High scored its best score in reading since 2009.
This year, the school scored its highest score in math since 2005.
In 2018, North finished the year with a 5.5 GPA, which ranked it the #3 best performing school in Virginia in 2018.
In 2020, North placed 8th in the state for the highest average GPA in Virginia, which was 4.68, and had the third highest average ACT score in the region.
North’s highest average SAT score was 1521.
Nationally, North is the sixth most popular college and university in the United States.
The 2017-2018 NCES National School Rankings were released on March 10, 2017, during the 2017-18 school year.
The rankings were based on the data from the NCES, the National Assessment of Educational Progress, and NCES Student Test Battery of Tests.
The 2017-19 rankings were conducted by the NCGS Research Lab.NCES, NAEP, and ACT scores were calculated using the formula “A* = 1 – b/2” which represents the average of the three tests taken during the year.
