Springfield Public Schools to be taken over by private company

The news comes after the school board voted 3-2 to keep Springfield public schools open.

The school board also voted to hire a new superintendent.

The sale is expected to close in the next few weeks.

Springfield Public School has been under state control since 2010.

Its budget is $2.6 billion.
